Civil Services Contingent
The Civilian Services Contingent forms part of the guard of honour around the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London, alongside detachments from the Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy.
There are two detachments of the Civilian Services Contingent, made up of staff from the Fire, Police, Ambulance and Prison services, as well as St John Ambulance and the British Red Cross.
The Remembrance Sunday service is led by the Royal Family, and in 2014 had added poignance because it marked the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Southam Fire Station's Watch Cmdr (2012-2024) Daryl Townsend was fortunate to have been selected to represent Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service on 3 occasions, 2009, 2014 & 2016.
The most poignant of the 3 for him, was that of 2014, which was not only the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I, but also that of his late father's birth year.
Watch Cmdr Townsend's late father fought in World War II and Watch Cmdr Townsend can be seen proudly wearing his father's medals in the last of the 2016 photos.
Lest We Forget
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
